HAS Center is located in South Central Los Angeles, classified as a "Severely Disadvantaged Community" by Data USA. This area, labeled 'death alley' by the Los Angeles Times, faces high homicide rates and is a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area according to the National Drug Intelligence Center.

Many youths here encounter significant educational, social, and family challenges, leading to widespread social and emotional issues. Our focus is on providing effective education, resources, jobs, economic development, comprehensive mental health support, and tackling drug-related problems through youth and community development programs.

Heart and Soul Center aims to provide affordable, high-quality production services to underserved communities and create job opportunities while introducing them to innovative digital technology.

Dr. Redmond's goal is to empower youth and the community, fostering self-esteem and discovering their inherent worth ("Imago Dei").
Center coaches guide students in creating impactful video/film, digital photography, and graphics, offering a medium for self-expression.

With decades of experience, CEO Dr. Redmond uniquely integrates teaching with practical knowledge.

HAS Center not only brings cutting-edge technology to students and the community but also cultivates a new generation of coaches and teachers who engage with youth, imparting hands-on skills and opening doors to new opportunities.
Dr. (DK) Dyke Redmond
CEO & Creative Director
Dr. DK, formerly with Communications Bridge in Hollywood, trained underserved individuals for careers in television and film. Later, he founded his own production company, earning Emmy and cable ACE Awards.

He's been recognized with the West LA College Teacher of the Year Award and was a highly rated professor at California State University Los Angeles.
His roles include Technical Director at the Black College Satellite Network, Executive Director of LA 36, and positions as both Adjunct and Tenured college professor.

Dr. DK has established television studios from Inglewood, CA to Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, NY. As President and CEO of Heart and Soul (HAS) Center in Los Angeles, CA, he continues producing multimedia projects from commercials to documentaries.
​
His expertise includes television production training and distance learning via live interactive tele-conference technology. This has been implemented in over 140 Los Angeles and Inglewood schools, where K-8 students produce multimedia content, including the weekly show YDP Presents on KLCS, a PBS station.
